G796 Gasket Diameter

Submitted by alane24 on August 6, 2022 - 1:09pm

Hello, I'm looking to replace the caseback gasket in my 1969 (M9) Oceanographer G. The watch is enroute so I cannot take measurements.

I know that the OEM gasket is G796, but I'm looking for a modern aftermarket solution.

I don't have the diameter of the original and am hoping someone here might know.

Where can I find crystals for my vintage Bulovas

Hi,

I'm a very new watch repair hobbiest. I really enjoy taking apart, cleaning, and putting together watches. But I have struggled to find Watch parts and identify watches. I have two Bulova's I really want to get ready to be worn. The last I need for both watches are crystals.

the first watch I believe I have identified as a 1942 Bulova Alexander. This watch has a very oddly shaped crystal and I have attempted to find one on Cousins with no luck.

Hi,

My first post in this forum--hoping someone can help me finish a project watch I picked up on eBay about a month ago.

The movement is a "11ACC" which according to the pink pages a derivative of the 10BOAC.

I've been able to get the movement running acceptably by just giving it a good service (cleaning and lubrication). Was able to reuse the mainspring as well. From what I can tell, the watch had never been serviced, so pretty happy with how that went.

Is this Bulova a knock off?

I do not know the year but I do remember my father wearing this in the 80's. I took to the watch store today for a cleaning so I can hand it down to my son. They said it was likely a knock off. I didn't ask further questions and they would not open the back of it. Under Bulova on the face it does say ACCURATE not Acutron and I have not been able to pull up any Bulova ACCURATE watches. Is it likely a knock off?
