Swann posted about the estate sale with 1,200 or so Bulova watches in the Bulova Facebook group so I hope some folks came away with some nice watches.
I couldn't get through on the phone until about 40 minutes after the phones opened and a number of the watches I was interested in were either already gone or were priced for more than I was willing to pay. The person on the phone said that most all of the Academy Award watches were immediately bought by a museum (Bulova museum?). I missed that the 2nd day had 25-50 percent off and when I called on the 3rd day every single watch in the numbered trays had been sold. I did end up getting four watches (9D3, 10F3, 20B7 and 21B4). It was hard to tell condition from the included photos, so fingers crossed.
I'm curious to see what watches you all came away with.
It was a massive sale to be sure. I didn't attend, but it sure gained plenty of interest and I suspect we may see an increase in watches being added here on myBulova.com.
I do hope that some of you were able to buy a piece (or four) that you've been after for a while. There was certainly something for everyone in that collection.

My watches came today and they are all meticulously labeled with model, date, case material, etc. A very well kept collection.
I was doing a little research on one of the watches and noticed it had the exact same (non-original) strap as the one pictured on Watchophila, which seemed strange. Then I noticed it is in fact the watch pictured there, including with the same serial number, as are the other watches I received. So it looks like the estate sale was Lisa's collection. I know her site was down for a week or so in March of this year so I'm hoping that she is OK.
That's correct, the entire collection of watches sold as that event came from her personal collection and website. My understanding is that Lisa is fine and well.
I'm looking forward to seeing what gems you managed to buy. I hear it was quite an event which is fantastic, as it shows the collectability and interest in vintage Bulova watches is still very high.
