Hi all,

I friend of mine offered me this 1969 watch.

I was unable to find online many resources regarding this model and I am having a problem understanding if all the parts are original and coeval

To me, all seems ok, even if I normally see the second hand in red.

I would like some expert advice ;-)

Hello everyone,

My name is Mike and I am on a mission to collect all 10 Jet Star Models, and I am very close to completing the collection.  My question is... Does anyone here, have any knowledge of any other collector that has another complete Jet Star collection?   I have to imagine I am not the only collector to obtain all 10pcs, but I would like to know for sure.  I have reached out to several fellow Bulova collectors and nobody has knowledge of this being done before.  Any info or leads you may have would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you,

-M

As a watch restoration service that relies on half my business outside my area I request timepieces be sent via Flat Rate USPS 2-DAY Priority Mail (USA only). Nevertheless clients wish to use cheaper services such as USPS Standard Rate 1st Class.  IMPORTANT: Priority Mail offers free $50.00 insurance and you can insure for anything you want. I you use flat rate services such as a small box they are scanned at each location and tracking numbers are accurate. The most important thing is getting your Bulova Heirloom Watch to the destination for repairs safely.

Bulova Series 1430 Yeoman Accutron Transistor Radio

Submitted by neetstuf-4-u on February 14, 2022 - 6:01pm

Here is a first for me. Bulova clear back "Yeoman" (series 1430) pocket sized transistor radio with lined leather case.. In the original packaging with papers and Bulova 9V battery. Note that the box is marked "Ebony, C" - black body with clear back. The paperwork is undated, but bears a zone number address, indicating it is pre-1963. The Accutron was introduced in I believe Nov. of 1960. The 1430 series radio is the only example of a Bulova radio I find online bearing the tuning fork logo. This would appear to date this radio to the same time frame as the original Accutron.

This is a great article about the history of the quartz watch and Bulova's role as the first to mass produce a quartz watch.  The article claims the The Bulova Accuquartz Cal. 224 was the first mass-market quartz wristwatch

Counterfeit Bulova?

Hello everyone! Received a recent eBay purchase and it seems to be a mish-mash of watch parts. The dial says Bulova, however it does not say Swiss and seems to be in a paint color/style I have not seen before. Looking to see if Bulova dials always say Swiss on them. Also looking to see if they used this metallic copper paint on the dials. Close up pics of numerals look like thick paint. Does this most likely mean this was hand painted? Thanks!02/12/2022

Hello all, I am new to the forums and I just picked up my first Bulova.  John with Time and Again has it now doing what he does so it may once be a gem again.  Its marked as a 53, From what I have gathered here is it should be a Jordan.  The other watches I have seen here are 17 jewels where mine is the 10bm with 21 jewels.  Also mine has a 14k gold case. Is this a more rare style of this watch?  I would like to learn what ever I can about this watch and the ones like it.  If anyone has any information about the Ashford, Jordan and the Ruthaford variant or where information may be found.
