I was just wondering if anyone has had one of these shadow dials(as in some of the AA models)refinished and how they came out.I would love to see pics of a refinished one if possible.Thanks.
Dear all,
The time has come to clear my shop and among the things I am selling off is 2 Bulova Parts cabinets almost entirely full of parts except for one shelf. One is a two drawer one and one is a three drawer. The parts are organized and plentiful. I wanted to offer them to the dedicated members of this forum before listing them on eBay. If you are interested please PM me and I can email high resolution pictures of them.
Best Regards,
Aaron
Hello friends if you have a Bulova Air King for sale, please contact me :-)
Cheers
Here's where I've found a few of the new ads I've posted including that new "Director" ID.
Obviously I can't look at em all so if you want to check them out please jump in.
The watch in total is a cobbled together mess...
The dial would suggest a sweep second movement. It's not!
The hands are inapproriate for the dial.
Case center section appears to be chromed base metal while the bezel and back are gold filled,
and none of the case numbers match.
I've posted the photos so you can have a good laugh.
I'm only interested to know if anyone recognizes the dial and which model it mates.
Hi all you people out there in bulovaland.
Is there anyone who knows whether there is any place where l can get a watch case repaired . I have a watch which the end of one of the lugs has broken off.I dont have the piece that has come off, so it would require a new piece of metal souldered on .
A reply from anyone who could help , will be much apreciated.
Regards to all
George
There is little that I have found regarding how (and with what oil) to properly lubricate a mainspring. There is also info that alludes to certain mainsprings that are coated and do not require oiling less they may eventually bind.
I have just installed an NOS Buloloy mainspring from an Insertopak intona barrel for a 10BC. What is the proper oiling procedure for this mainspring? What IS the correct oil to use?
Thanks in advance!
Hello everyone. I'm new to this forum and wondering if anyone out there can help me. I live in the UK and restore vintage Bulovas as a very enjoyable semi-retirement occupation. I need a yolk spring for an 8AM (the part is the same one on the 8AZ). If anyone has one of these movements with this part intact, could you please message me and let me know your price to include shipping to the UK? Thank you - and I look forward to sharing information with you again soon. Regards, Peter
What about this unusual design concept from our favourite watch brand?
Designed for Interplanetary Timekeeping, L-R on the "dial" are planet sign, day, hour, minute, seconds, with GMT on the very bottom.
Great imaginations these guys had, if only they had made one!
From 1970.
Groovy baby!
