Prices are Down

Buy em up boys!  I'm seeing some really quality Bulova's going for next to nothing!  Seems like the prices are in the dirt right now.  Perfect time to buy a pile of old Bullys and wait for it to come back.  That way you'll have the inventory to liquidate when it's back up to buy your high quality pieces you've been after! =)

Radium

A lot has been said over the years about Radium and its ill effects, and how it relates to horology. Watchmakers typically have had to contend with a vast array of toxic materials, Cyanide, Trichlorethylene, Carbon Tetrachloride, Ammoniated cleaning solutions, both water and hydrocarbon based, Rouges and polishing mediums, and of course, Radium.

I recently had the opportunity to use a Geiger counter on a variety of test subjects, and the results have surprised me.

My watch pictures the last month or so..

So.  The last month or so I haven't felt like grabbing my actual camera out of the old case, messing with the SD card, transferring and what not.

So guess what I experimented with about a month ago? As well as have been using ever since as I don't think my photo quality has deteriorated at all.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 cell phone.  Yup... no lies.  The below pictures were taken with my cell phone in my light tent.  Then I just go to my computer, upload them with my cord, do a little cropping, and wallah!

Pretty cool eh?

hi there

I'm trying to determine the correct crystal replacement for my Accutron 2181 dating to 1976.  Inside case back number is 3595.  My calipers indicate it should be 29.5 mm.  Anyone able to provide the correct crystal replacement number or, even better, a correct replacement crystal?

Please help me identify my Bulova

I recently bought this beauty but now I'm a bit confused. Since the 21 jewels movement has a square mark, the appr. 46mm long case has case number starts with "6" I guess this is 1936 Bulova President. But I cannot find the engravings on the side of the case. Are there President models without engrevings?

Thanks and regards!

New to the forum, for some reason I can't seem to post to the repair forum.

I'm looking for some referals to get my 1961 Snorkel repaired.  I am in the San Jose CA area, but I'm not opposed to mailing it in to somebody with a good reputation.

Thank you.
