So I bought am awesome Astronaut yesterday. It was running great and keeping great time. So of course I like to see the condition of my Accutrons movements. I opened it up and the gasket stuck, and stretched a bit. I got it put back in the best I could. Slapped it all back together, and now I have a NON WORKING watch! Its still humming, but no hands move. Im stunned. I found at least one thread that stated the gasket could be my issue. Im having a hard time believing this though. Anyone have any thoughts?

I have seen discussions on this watch before but don't remember who or when. The GS crystal is a CMH 407 and it fits perfect. I can't find the "Chadwick" in the 53 ads and don't remember which movement I took out of the watch but I think it was a 10BC or BM. I just have too many things going on at once and when I started to put this one back together I forgot which movement went in it.

Just thought I'd pass this one on. Used some 1500 grit wet and dry paper on a really rough crystal, tried wet but too messy, so used it dry, in one inch squares, much better, just wiped off dust regularly. Looked like it was FUBAR when I was done, all foggy, but polished it with Brasso and WOW! Just like new! Ideal for those who can't find new crystals for their cherished oldies. Only tried on acrylic and early plastic types,not mineral or glass crystals yet, but will try and will let you all know how I get on.
