This is my father-in-laws watch.  Based on looking your fantastic website.  I think the Model is a Sea Flight.

Whilst the Sea Flight "K" has a near identical dial, that series house an automatic movement.

I did find a linebook entry for a 1967 Bulova Sea King "AM" which looks to be a near perfect match.

Thank you for the great information.  I do agree that the description and image does look like a match.  You are correct that my watch is not automatic and does require winding.

After getting your information I checked your site for Sea King "AM" and found this 1968 version (see image below).  Which is also identical to my eyes.  A few questions:

  • I assume it is normal for the same model to be issued in different subsequent years and the only way to distinguish the year is by the "M7" vs "M8". Is this correct?
  • what does the "AM" mean?

Yes that is correct that we go by the datecode on the case.  The "AM" is just an assigned variant of that watch.  A variant just means there is more than one watch assigned to the model with slight differences.  The differences can be a multitude of things depending on the decade and model etc.  It could be dial color or band differences etc within the model.

Hello,

Following up... Is there anything additional I can provide?   Or you think we have a confirmed match?

Thanks

We have added your watch by it's name to the dB and displayed a snip from an original Bulova Distributor catalog. Is there something else you'd like to know?
