Thanks man ! I actually had trouble discerning it from things like crusader la feyette Dorsey hahahaha

I think it is de Lafayette. It is the same as the Dewey, but in the latter these two vertical rims are executed in contrasting green gold (and just plain white gold in the Lafayette).

Ooh that’s very interesting to note sir ! As I said, I saw many similar models so yea I was unsure as to what it seemed to be !

We have had several detailed conversations on the LaFayette vs. Dewey, Lafayette has smooth sides on the verticals next to the crystal, while Dewey had raised "bars". We  determined it was most likely the Dewey came with more than one gold finish but was not advertised as such.

There are several watches in the database initially ID'ed as LaFayette that after scrutiny we re-evaluated to be Dewey, HERE IS ONE with a pretty straight forward explanation..

Hi sir ! Yup I looked through the post you sent over and have to agree with you on this one ! Are there any adverts related to the Dewey other then the short snippet? It seems to be a very not well known model ?

1932, if dated by the Case.

1932 'LA FAYETTE'  (ad is dated 1930)

* the ad for the Dewey indicates 'Green gold inlays' to the Case, which the subject does not show.

Hi sir ! Thanks for your input ! May I know how was 1932 dated from the caseback ? Cause in watches like Waltham the serial number starts with 24xxxx showing 1924 , would like to understand how you guys do it ! And thanks for the ad ! I really like to see how my watch would have showed up in it’s time period !

The movement is dated 1931 by the Sq Shield, however the case serial # beginning with a '2' indicates it was manufactured in 1932 therefore the watch could not be 1931 as the watch case did not yet exist.

Sometimes this scenario is seen in reverse with the case being manufactured prior to the movement, the latter of the 2 dates being the logical year of production.
