Thanks for clarifying what happened Bob, I figured it was something along those lines...

Sad but fun fact, I turn 60 this year! When you get up around my age you start forgetting some of the little things... lol

I'm almost thee, so that's a fact, my friend. My three daughters remind me of it all the time.

Bob,

Thank you for apologizing.

I did receive *your* email with the tracking. Checking the spam folder, nothing ever arrived from the USPS. The box arrived yesterday.

That's great news!

So do you have everything for the watch now?

To answer your question, you may have to help me Astro -

I get everything out of the return envelope ready to re-install the movement. Looking at the new crystal carefully, I notice...

tilt a crystal

NOW what? As I am not familiar with this case or crystal and being it's taken time to get it back, I'm hesitant to push on the crystal to maybe pop it into whatever groove may/not be in the case. Ideas?

Is there supposed to be a gasket underneath the crystal to resist water/dust? Wish I had an exploded Bulova view on this assembly.

(When I was born, no one told me life could be this difficult.)

Oh no, That's not good, The only way to install them correctly is with a crystal press I'm sorry to say...

Sorry, there, not thee.

The crystal goes in with a lot of tension, Mark, and although i was sure it was seated it must not have been in all the way or it just worked itself up. Any local jeweler could likely put it back. I'd likely add a bead of crystal sealant, too, just to make sure it didn't happen again if you'd like to try one more time. It does require a crystal lift....multi-pronged device.

Does anyone have an exploded parts view of the 214 or 218?
