..this 'Devil diver' nonsense?

It is only within the last 5 yrs that I have seen the 666 Feet Snorkel watches referred to as the devil diver, online of coarse.

666 Feet on the Snorkel dial is the depth rating of the watch case, nothing more, nothing less....

Just a nickname given to these diver watches sporting the '666' on the dial.

I'm not sure what online forum website was the first to use the name 'Devil Diver', but I'm sure it wasn't us.

it certainly wasn't MyBulova.

I think I first saw the term coined by a British reseller on ebay 5 - 7yrs ago, now it's rampant and has to stop.  haha!

I also noticed what the Bulova enthusiast / collector community nicknamed the 'Bullhead' chronograph (examples in the database) now being referred to as the Parking meter.

Walthams' version was referred to as the Parking Meter.

Bulova have yet to officially release the 'Woody', but it's only a matter of time :-)

That one 'we' can claim. I think it was Plainsmen.

You're right.

With all of Bulovas' recent name and watch design re-issues it is fairly obvious that they have visited the site and have been looking around.
