Some of you know that members of the 1928 New York Yankees World Series Championship team were presented Hamilton Piping Rock watches by the then Commissioner of Major League Baseball, Judge Kenesaw Mountain Landis.

But did you know the the 1935 Detroit Tiger World Series Championship team members got LONE EAGLES!

Late 1928 Lone Eagle ads

Submitted by jasonknoxphotography on June 10, 2013 - 1:11am

Just came across these 2 ads that except for the Jewelers names at the bottom they are exactly the same.

The ad states The "Lone Eagle" watch Lindbergh used is only $50.

If these ads were written by Bulova for jewelers to use to sell the Lone Eagle it would help to confirm that Lindbergh was given the pre Lone Eagle "Conqueror" before flight.

can anyone tell me any information about the above watch?? I have an opportunity to purchase one but have no idea of their worth or how rare they might be or when they were manufactured. This one is at auction, is gold filled, automatic and looks in good shape. Will be able to see it in person in a week or so. Just looking for some preliminary info. Thanks!!!

7th Edition Joseph Bulova School of Watchmaking Training Manual

Submitted by JP on May 12, 2013 - 10:26pm

To all of you who asked for a copy of the manual, it is now available under the information tab and sub tab of Catalogs Etc. for you to download. I am sorry to have to do it this way but so many of you had asked for it that with all of the time I spent on scanning it and all of the work from all of you who have sent me watches for repair or ordered lumed hands, it was necessary.

Thanks to every one for their support on this project and I hope you all enjoy the lessons you will be studying to become better at repairing Bulovas even if you have never cracked a case open before.
