If you were happy to pay $628 for such a wonder timepiece then yes you did ok.
The way I look at it....what would it cost you to buy a brand new high-end solid gold, jewelled watch today? I'd say probably way more that $628...that might get you a good quartz watch.

I think you mean solid gold? Which that answers a question I had in my mind and forgot to ask. A lot of the Bulova watches I looked at have Rolled Gold Plate on the back cover and I wondered if that meant this one was solid 14k gold. I suppose it makes this watch even better :-)

Yes, this watch is 14k solid gold. Rolled gold plating was the typical starting point for most watches in yellow or white gold. Electroplate was also a cheaper base option that would soon show up, along with base metal. At a higher level, there were 18k solid gold and platinum, as well as the cool multi-gold cases from the Sunburst line.

A bit late to the party I am, but yes it's a 1964 Bulova Golden Goddess H (but you already knew that, right?).
BUT - Did you know that we (at mybulova) helped Bulova Corp ID the watch that Beth's mother gave her in the show. There was a lot of freeze framing going on but we figured it out. Once we identified it as an American Girl K they contacted our very own Kathy L and borrowed her watch (CLICK HERE) to send to the factory to spec it for re-issue. I believe Bulova has sold out of the re-issue but HERE is a link to their web site.
