I've searched the data base and the closest I can come is in the second page of the adverts' slide #10 but I can't make it out well enough to tell. It has a hinged case that say's Pat. Jan. 11 1927, Bulova 14K Gold Filled, New York. Case measures 26.75mmx26.75mm. The 9AT movement has a dust cover.
"if the Case and Dial of the subject Watch and the Ad isn't Square then I don't know what is...."
You don't.
Showing a giant rectangle next to a tiny square isn't going to fool anybody.
You measured incorrectly from side to side on the case as explained above, and by showing exactly the same blowup again only reinforces the ridiculousness of the statement you just made, as when measuring the lighter dial, which is smaller than when you first posted this "blue" pic, the dial is a quarter of an inch narrower than it is long, making it rectangular!
The arrow at top right is about 7-8mm. too high up on the case, and the one bottom left is a couple too low.
I recommend you try harder. :^)
Lets please get back to the real aspects of the watch, it's case design, engraving, movement, date, dial and hands.
Enough of the square vs rectangle. We all have our throughts on what shade of blue the sky is. So lets please focus our efforts on finding an advert or picture showing this watch for what it is.
Unknown.
Similar watch here but in solid gold with 17 jewel 9 AN, but case is 1.25 mm. smaller, same size crystal, same dial, engraving, still square.

admin,
The Case shape, the engraving pattern and the highly polished frame aound the Glass all match the illustrations for the 1928 'SENATOR'. The Jewel Count (15) is also correct. The Dial is a ringer except for the sub-Seconds bit which can be attributed to a redial/refinish occuring down through the Years.
obviously 'SENATOR'.
Ok we have:
Unknown - 4
Senator (3 ticks) - 1
Senator (2 ticks) - 2 (Will has indicated Unknown and a tentative Senator)
I'm hoping the rest of the Panel Members can chime in with their thoughts as its becomming difficult having such a small group make a decision.
