As the title mentions, seeking the part number and possible source for a case gasket.
Sea King Stainless Steel, number inside rear cover is 2913
Thanks in advance.
Plainsmen, the 23 jewel '68 Bulova I recently submitted that's been named as the "Time Center A" has the same situation. There was no gasket present when I removed the caseback and I noticed a bit of freeplay there also, especially when I flip the watch completely over. I'm not certain of whether or not the movement ring is present, but I believe it is. Perhaps the gasket itself will stop the "flopping" I'm noticing? How did yours go, was it fixed? If you don't mind may I ask where you sourced a gasket (if you found one already)?
The G731 is the actual one I need. I thought you needed the same # part? Anyways, that brings me to the next question. I noticed that there are generic gaskets kits sold online, with many different sizes. If the original can't be found, I take it that's the next step, providing a generic but with similar dimensions? Is this what watchmakers do when they can't provide the actual part, which is most likely out of production anyways with vintage pieces?
