Got curious as to which tuning fork movement parts are the most expenisve/hardest to acquire and ranges of what fair pricing would be?
By far the index wheel. You can destroy it just by touching it, and they stopped making them a long time ago. It is at the heart of the movt and without a good one your Accutron will not run properly, if at all. There is a specialist in the US who still has some NOS parts, (you'd have to google them, I don't remember who they were) but at some point there will be no more index wheels and that will be that. There was talk of Bulova making new Accutrons to the original spec, which meant that a whole new line of wheels might be available for the repair of all those Accutrons out there, but they seem to have dropped that idea.
