1 tick since subject watch does not match ad for reason stated above.

I think i see where this is going.  The ad says yellow or white, so it says either/both.  It may be inferred that the "G" is one color, and perhaps the other color is some other variant, but it doen't say that directly.

When we try to read too much into what the ad says, then we get into trouble...Keep It Simple, no theory, no assumptions, if another ad shows up to prove us wrong, then all we have to do is go back and correct it. For now, both this one and the 1965 are both Engineer "G"'s

Darren,

Compare the subject watch to the Diamond Excellency that I have, the DE is square, this one is definitely rectangle in shape. The lugs being set in make it appear square.

Good visual OT.  I was trying to picture the minute hand at the 12 position and the 3 position, and then thinking of the diff in distance from tip of hand to the bezel.  Yours is much easier to do.

it's not a theory.

Case colour has been shown to be different 'variantwise' prior, there's a coloured ad example somewhere I will attempt to find for this thread.

The "G" variant will not be both the Yellow and the White Case.

Wills' price sheets prove this further - different model numbers given for different Case colours of the same model indicated by the Y (Yellow) or the W (White) of the model number.

'Keeping it simple'  would be to list the Watch by its Model Name only for now - the 'ENGINEER' until such time We know what colour the "G" variant is.

Here is the list...the only thing that I see that would indicate any color is that some of these have Black dials...the model number has nothing to do with case color...The ad says it all...Available in Yellow or White...

The other example that you might be thinking of is the "I" which is a Yellow Gold case, and a totally different bezel.

Well I don't know. Geoff, the owner, shows it as square in his description.

Well, the ad looks a little rectangular, and w/ above record, we have crystal dimensions for square crystal.  Does the subject case seems to mimic the crystal shape/dimensions?
EDIT:  We don't have crystal specs for subject watch- I meant we have crystal diminsions for this watch here- the other example under discussion.
