Bulova Automatic

See my watch, could anyone assess if this is a genuine Bulova? I hope so. Not so much for the value, but just like the Bulova brand and I would hate to find out I had bought a replica...

What e.g. does the movement number tell you? 7037T. Is that a Bulova movement, or does it refere to something completely different?

TIA!!

Jan Willem

Ever wondered why 15, 17, 21 jewel ? Why not 16, 18, 22 Where does the odd number come from??

This is just some information I thought maybe someone would be interested in.

Most of the older Bulova jewelled watches are either 15,17, 21 or 23 jewel.  Most of these jewels are ruby or simulated ruby (grown in a laboratory), cut to size and a tiny hole drilled through the centre.  These jewels may be used on either side of the Centre, 3rd and 4th wheels as well as for the escape wheel .   And on the pallet fork their are usually two on the pivot points.

Does anyone have info about this watch?

This was in my grandmother's jewelry box and given to me as a keepsake. I was just curious to find out some more info about it. It's hard to see in the pic but it says Bulova under the 12 and Swiss under the 6. There is no info on the back. The patent number on the clasp is from 1937. Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
