I fell in love with the black dial on this little beauty. She's in working order and is keeping time like a champ. I am planning on changing out the watch band with a black corded one to make it feel more original. Using the site I am pretty sure this is a 1948 Her Excellency L since it has a black not slate dial. The back of the case has 10k gold filled with the serial number.
Not much question here
1948 Bulova Her Excellency "L"
Is there a date stamp on the case? There doesn't appear to be in your photo. Movement is stamped "47", and s/n starts with an "H", which I think we decided that being the 8th letter in the alphabet signifies "8" for 1948?
In reply to Geoff, I have 8 now and one by starbrite30
Starbrite30, Don't worry, it's OK........ we understand completely. The affliction can be managed but not cured by frequent trips to eBay. Once you acquire a large enough number, you can hide new purchases from loved ones who just see a case full..............
My name is Bob......I'm a Bulovaholic....... welcome to the fold. :o)
