Watch Description

Couldn't find it in the DB  -  The date code is a triangle and a square stamped side by side  -  Sorry I put this one in before I got a chance to clean it up.  Condition is not bad other than the crystal and the balance spring is broken

I hope the green crystal isn't correct for the watch

I'm leaning towards the Governor according to the photo of a 1928 model in the DB. Didn't see a 27 or 26 and this one definitely has the triangle and the square side by side, no cresent moon

There is a clear omega (1930) date code near the movement serial number. The case also suggests 1932. I'm leaning towards a La Fayette.

Movement serial number around this period typically started with a 6. Can you check yours to confirm.

# on movement is 561732. I know in that it does appear to be an omega symbol but under magnification it is definitely a triangle and a square. Also can't find and markings indicating silver or gold. I did notice the letter F stamped between the lugs on the latch side of the back

So a 1931 date stamp on the movement.  I was reading on some of the other threads with La Fayettes and Governors that they look almost identical but have different crystal sizes.  The Governor at 24.6 x 22.4 and the La Fayette at 24.8 x 19.5 (G-S T1145).  Would you be able to measure the crystal?

It also looks like Governor was late 1920's and La Fayette was early 30's.  So I am still leaning towards La Fayette at the moment unless your crystal size says Governor.

24.3 x 19.2 +/-

See photos from last post in regards to date code. Although the first photo uploaded certainly appears to be the omega (1930), The photo under magnification clearly shows a triangle and a square (1926-1927)

Ok then by that measurement it is the crystal for the La Fayette.  The triangle and square put together is the date code for 1931 of a square shield. Although it doesn't normally have the line in the middle.

I see the '31 now. Easy mistake with the extra line.

Nice pickup on crystal variance, Kathy.  This appears to indeed be a La Fayette. The date stamping on the movement is curious. I've never seen 2 date stamps so perfectly alligned as to share a common line. Based on case S/N, I'm inclined to say it is a square shield for 1931, which would jive with a 1932 case number.

I'm at 1932 La Fayette

La Fayette works for me too

PS - the "F" designates 'filled' as in gold filled.
