Season's Grettings to all of you!
This watch was a present to my father from my mother; from the backcase I guess it is a 1971 production and I searched anywhere to understand which model but never found anything matching.
For further information, as you will see it is made in solid 18k satin gold and very heavy (more than 3.5oz.).
Thank you for your help!
Good ad find. My guess would be the ad shows watches only sold in Europe, and therefor perhaps bearing names not seen or identified in ads in the US or Canada.
The watch in lower left is identified as "Eolo". I plugged that into a translation program to translate from Italian to English ad got "Aeolus"( a God from Greek mythology). This seems to indicate a name for that watch, as opposed to a style.
The top picture is most obviously and without question your watch. It is identified as "Unisex", which may indeed be the name rather than style.
Awaiting further comments from the panel, I would suggest that per the ad, this is a
1971 Bulova Accutron Unisex
(International?)
I'm good with 1971 Accutron Unisex as per the advert.
For those that haven't heard my water resistance rants, always keep in mind these watches are absolutely NOT waterproof, and should not be considered even water resistant. They do have rubber rings as gaskets in the caseback and crown, but this is not even enough to protect against surface swimming. Hot water, like showers or hot tubs, will cause the gaskets to shrink and invariably the watch will suffer water incursion.
Think 'splash resistant,' but even so I recommend keeping vintage watches in general well away from water or steam.
Absolutely agree with all of you, 1971 Accutron Unisex. @Reverend Rob, thank you for the notice, very useful revision! I am sure my father did not swim while wearing it...
Probably it was a model produced for the Italian market only (if not European) and it was a mere case I found that ad today googleing the suggestion of "mini-accutron".
