Original Butler finish Dial shows a combination of applied Gilt Arabic numerals on the even Hours with Gilt hashmarks at the odd. Bulova Signature, Duo-Wind insignia and Tracks are printed in Black. Hour and Minute Hands are Gilt Alpha Hour style and a Gilt Index style Seconds Hand shows on a Sub-Dial obscuring the 6. Snap fit Caseback is Gold and stamped as shown. * Movement 9AB is a Swiss Felsa 415.

Which is following suit for all the 'DUO-WIND's of the same era.
In 1950-51 these Watches are identified by ad as the 'DUO-WIND', have 'DUO-WIND' on the Dial and are powerd by bi-directional winding Automatic Felsa Movements stamped 'Bulova' - from 1951-'52 these Watches drop the 'DUO WIND' insignia from the Dial which is replaced by 'selfwinding' and take on individual Model Names.
I suspect the Movements also change post 1950.
My model also has the 9AB movement. (Which I have to say I quite like). I wonder if it was the movement they classed as DUO WIND or the watch itself. I have only ever seen these 9ab movements in watches either named Duo Wind or as like this one a duo wind model one year but that of a different name the next. Be interesting to know why they dropped the Duo-Wind name after such a short period yet other model ranges lasted decades.
