The battery on the above watch expired , it was a 329 and I purchased a Accucell-1 to replace it. After inserting the battery the watch did not work so I immediately removed the new battery in case this may damage the watch . Is there a special technique to start the watch or does this mean that the watch mechanism has expired. Thanks.
Terry
I recently acquired a solid gold Kreisler mesh band for a '44 Tuxedo and it is WAY to big for my wrist.
Has anyone here ever resized one?
Thanks
Darren
What would be the reason for hands not turning. The watch runs great and the hands are easy to set. There doesn't appear to be and broken parts.
Thank you
Gerard
I have felt some kind of connection for Bulova watches since i first began collecting. My first watch was a Marine Star from my uncle and i now own about 7 other Bulovas. Since i started noticing watches i have been interestd in the Accutrons, i love the concept and find them fascinating. Recently i bought 3 of them cheap with hopes that at least one would work. Unfortunately none do. I bought a 2210 "Dress" watch, a steel Floppy Football 214 and a gold 218 that resembles a tuning for upside down. I did my research and order the correct batteries and adapters.
Okay, been a while since I've visited. My daily driver conked out last week (Accutron Breckenridge) so I took it to Jareds Jewlers. They told me $75.00 to replace !!!! WTF ??? Was "informed" that since it is a waterproof watch, the seal would need to be broken, resealed and tested..... and they would have to send to out !! I said I still don't see $75.00 in that explaination ... What do you guys think ? Now I replace my and friends batteries all the time. I will just need to get a smaller driver.
I am interested in buying old Bulova watch boxes. From then 1920s to 1950.
I really like the old wooden ones from the 1920s to1930. But they are hard to find.
Kind regards
Will all those packages of Balance Staffs ever be used? Are they just taking up room in our parts drawer? What do you think?
Hi I was wondering if you can help me out. I was cleaning out my mothers and father attic and I found a brass desk clock. I found a picture of the clock on-line but that is it. I am attaching the link to the web to show you the clock.
I have an 8AN movement....and the clutch wheel lever flew away on me and is lost. I have made some inquiries and I've been told it is a FHF (Font) 1146. However, I was also old Jules Borel lists a FHF 1146 as interchangeable with the Bulova 10AN/10AE/10AX. I doubt the 8AN clutch lever is the same as the 10AN. Does anyone have a 8AN parts movement that would be willing to sell me a cluth lever? Its the only thing standing between me and a running watch! Thank you kindly fellow members. Rob
