'48 from my Dad's collection. Is it a Clinton? Tiny little guy...
Fully working, Any help on dating and pricing, thanks
Movement says '42, but case says '43. Â I've always loved this watch. Â Started out the Ranger and changed in 1941 to the Chief.
10BL movement? Â Hrmm...
I'm pretty sure this one is a 1942 Chief. It has a 10AX 15 jewel movement in a 10k rgp case with a stainless back. I acquired this one with a broken mainspring, broken balance staff, a worn out setting lever, and a scratched and cloudy crystal. You never know what you're going to get with those watches on that auction site. But it's all fixed and running good now.
1941 Ad.
Â
Hi all I've just received this nice little watch, but im having difficulty in identifying it. I think it may be a Clinton but the ones on the site have different movements to the one i have also there seems to be a number of differing names for this case depending on the year of manufacture. I would greatly appreciate any help members could give me in determining which model it actually is.  It is a nice clean watch running well and with very little patina on the dial. It came complete with a genuine bulova brown leather strap which i think is of the same vintage as the watch . Crystal is glass  The case is yellow Gold plated  marked 10k rolled gold plate and the serial number is 9406888
Kind regards to all donegd
I think in '42 this would be the year of the Chief.
This watch has a really great looking case and movement. Â Dial shows it's age but for some reason I see that quite a bit on these models that arn't redialed. Â This the Banker, and Ranger models of this era had those white dials that really sucked in the age.
Unfortunately it came with a really crappy 50's band that was horrible on it... It would be nice to find the nice expandable gf one with the leather insert.
