Bulova 1967 Banker

Where's the variant letter?

Another ad, no date, no text, no nothing???????????????????

Probably a "premature" thing.

So we have Fifth's (undated) Banker O ad (left), and  Bobbee's 1967 Banker N ad (right). Looks like price differences (O is $65; N may be $69.95???). Both appear to have the same band in ads.

I think the price point was set by the jeweller advertising it, not Bulova's suggested retail. I gave the Banker N 3 as the ad matches the date of manufacture on the watch.

Bulova had fixed pricing agreement with dealers which were mandatory to be able to (legally) sell their watches. The price was the same at all Bulova dealers, and while they could be advertised (or sold) at a different price than the offical fixed price, they woulda been doing so against the contract.  Without knowing the date of the "O" ad Fifth posted, I'm not sure which variant it is.....

It is in the newspaper ads, another I fpund from 1967.

Thanks Bobbee.  So I am back to a unknown choice between the "O" and "N", or is there something I'm missing on it being one vs the other?

Nothing missed Will, quite the opposite.

The ads state the Banker was available with a 'Gilt or Silver Dial'. We now have 2 ads, one naming the 'N' variant and one naming the 'O' variant, both with this same wording, 'Gilt or Silver Dial, a smal detail often overlooked in Our rush to Name Model 'variants'

"N" variant, ?

.....the subject could in fact be the "O" .
