Welcome to mybulova, Is there a 2 digit code under the serial number on the case back? It should be a letter and number. 1965 would be M5. Also, have you had the back off the watch to look at the movement? An arrow stamp would indicate a date of 1937, which is unlikely. Jewel count would also be stamped on the movement.

Got it: It appears the edge of the case has a raised scallop on it, so it's a
1965 Bulova Yankee Clipper

I hesitate to call yours an "E" variant because the band may have been the determining factor.
