Watch Description

Hi  Any information on the model name for this watch would be appreciated.  I can't find it in any of the catalogues on-line. Measures 25mm width excl. crown (which I have replaced with correct part since this picture taken) and 36mm lug tip to lug tip. Not for sale - recently bought from ebay for £49 Thanks

Geoff,

I noticed an ad for the 'RUXTON' "A" which would lead one to believe there is also a "B", possibly a "C","D", "E" ect. which could be Case variants ala "SENATOR' and "AMBASSODOR" of this same era.

Noting a slight difference in the lug area of the subject to the distorted ad, a slight difference, which could be the ad, the Camera angle used by the Watch Owner, or a real difference.

The ad for the Ruxton tells us it is also available in white gold so there is the B possibly.

not a ruxton.

Glad to hear this wasn't just my ineptitude at looking through the adverts.  As you say - for me definitely not Ruxton.  Mine has a full set of numerals (except 6) and they are very stylized.

If any other pictures / angles would help then let me know...

My second Bulova purchase is in the mail - a 1924 Princine (I think) - wife is quite excited!

I will wait until it arrives to add to the database as the pictures from ebay don't show the case and movement markings very clearly...

Thanks

Stuart

Very distinctive corner lugs of which don't match either the Hancock or Ruxton. Is unknown for me at the moment until I have a better look through the ads.

Hi Stuart cool watch.
A side shot might help things.

Likely totally wrong but sure I saw this model in an advert a long time ago. Sure it was a military style name, something like Commander or similar.....probably off the mark but it rings bells somewhere

OK - good to see you all still have enthusiasm for this.

I've taken a couple of pictures which show the lug shape in a little more detail.

The very observant will notice that the watch is currently without hands.  Waiting for a new setting lever to arrive...

...watch origanlly had the wrong crown.  When I got a crown I discovered that the stem had the wrong thread, when I got a new stem I discovered that having the wrong stem fitted had damaged the setting lever.  Hopefully this will be the end of my quest once I get that sorted!

Hi Stuart, welcome to MB. Pretty sweet watch but Unknown for now. Don't give up hope though, we can get pretty tenatious no matter how long it takes.

Yes, I think I'm going back to Unknown too. What a cool watch though!

Here's another one for sale at the moment which might suggest that the subject watch has the wrong dial, which is why we can't find it.

This bears a striking resemblence to the Senator model.
