The "51" would mean the case is 1951.

Do you have any movement/inside case back pics?

Hi Blufkin - welcome to myBulova. I don't find any match to your watch in the first half of the the 1950's, a couple are close though. I wonder about the date you given us as I don't see a date code on the case back shown.  I too would like to see the inside case and movement.

Unusual, can't remember seeing a case of this era dated with "51" instead of L1.

Unknown - Nice looking watch though, I like the lugs

I have Watertite with the "53“ on the inner case back, it has been seen on others too.
