That ad is a wrong 'un.
Same year has this as the Douglas. Why is this watch ID'd in loads of ads from the mid 40's to 1949 as the Douglas, and one ad from 1949 suddenly makes it the Ambassador? Got to be a misprint.

There are no early to mid 1950's Ambassadors with 21 jewels in the DB, apart from another iffy ad that shows the Everett as an Ambassador. ALL other Ambassador ads show 17 jewels only. EDIT:- No Ambassadors post 1946 in the ads had more than 17 jewels.
No ads after 1949 show this model/case at all.
Definitely leave as a "how not to"!
I can't tell if this case should be dated by the case serial number (1946) or if the case has the L1 stamp and was dated in root record by that method. If the second is true, then the first digit of the case serial number doesnt' enter into the dating process. I'll PM Matt Scott (again) for more info.
