Wayne, are you referring to the vintage ad section?

I can find the above ad listed as 1944 only as 1947.

There is a late 1940's ad that describes this particular Watch as having 'bright finish lugs' which are clearly evident in Geoffs' photographs.

The ad names the Watch 'DIRECTOR' and is part of the 'EXCELLENCY GROUP'(?)

Wayne,

ad Dated 1944 (?) The text describes the highly polished end pieces (lugs).

'HIS EXCELLENCY' it is, unknown variant (Dial and Bracelet).

* Published advertisement confusion on this particular design.

We have already discussed the 1947 ad in one of my July 11 comments.. The ad is the last ad to address the watch as Director & placed in the Excellency Group. All subsequent ads show the subject watch as a His Excellency.

Agree with what Wayne just said. The movement date indicates its a later model, thus renamed to 'His Excellency'.

Granted it may be a fine line between when it changed over.

The question would be does the latter dated 'DIRECTOR' as part of the 'EXCELLENCY GROUP' posses the same highly polished finish to the lugs as seen.

If the latter ad names the Watch 'DIRECTOR' then it is a 'DIRECTOR' (?)

Or am I completely confused by this one?

Geoff and all.  Didn't we find an ad for this watch which strongly suggested a variant?  I'm looking now.  It's got the original bracelet and is fantastic!

Changed my ticks from two ticks to three ticks since currently listed w/o variant.
