Possible Bulova Director from 1946
Found this one in what appeared to be an original state with original leather band, rose gold buckle, and display case. Case is 14K Rose Gold Filled from 1946; original copper dial needed to be refinished, shown with purple hands; glass crystal was in great condition; 21 jewel 7AK movement with Square stamp; also came with the original leather strap with a Bulova 1/20 12K GF Rose color buckle; and the display case. Inside case Roman numerals I VII Λ . Very well preserved, with the exception of the dial (refinished) and strap (replaced). Not sure if the rose gold had a different model name in 1946; one 46 ad for the yellow gold Director; 47 ad shows the name change to HE 'DD' with a rose/pink option.
What a beautiful watch this is Ken, it really looks brand new. That strap really puts the finishing touch on it.
I've always had a soft spot for rose gold and probably always will. I think it's because my grandfather wore a rose watch (when he worn one), I can still see it today....except for the name on it, I can't quite see that!
I agree that it should be called Director.
