Hey all,
This watch belonged to my grandmother who has passed quite a few years ago, I had never thought twice of it until recently when our house caught fire and they had asked me about salvaging certain items. I would like to know what this is, what era its from and maybe just a little more about it. I cant provide any more photos or details as it is sitting in the restoration facility...I hope someone could help identify it.
Hi Dnater. That's a nice heirloom from your grandmother. It's practically impossible to identify it without more information. Going by the case design it would not likely be a 1935 model. I think it would more likely be one from the 40's. It could be a Goddess of Time similar to this one.
When you can retrieve it the information on the case back and movement will help with making a positive ID of your watch.
Hello dnater, welcome to myBulova. I think heirloom watches are very exciting. It seems as if you're interested in maintaining your grandmother's legacy by having it restored, congratulations. If possible, I suggest having the folks working on it supply you with some of the information we need to help identify your watch. Most watchmakers will be familiar with Bulova date coding, if not you can refer them to our web site. A larger photo of the front would also be helpful.
I think Alan (1955mercury) is right about it being from the 1940's and it just might be the Goddess of Time model he refers to. Interestingly, the woman depicted in the Bulova logo is also known as the goddess of time.
Thanks for sharing it with us.
What a perfect family heriloom. If you can contact the folks working on the watch, they may be able to get information while they have it opened up (so you don't have to when you get it back).
If maintained, this watch can someday be your Granddaughter's Heirloom too!
I'll wait to hear more info before ID'ing, but it does look to fit the Goddess of Time profile.
