Stolen watch identification

Submitted by mindgrowz on April 6, 2023 - 7:50pm

In 1970 my high school faculty gave me a Bulova watch as top male student.  A few years late it was stolen from a college gym locker.  If I have Case #, box,  and date code, can the model be determined.  I do not recall what it looked like, as it has been 50 years since I have seen it.  I cannot add this watch to the website as I have no pictures of the watch, or the watch itself.

More information:

The date code is M7

Case # is F154012

Hexagonal white case with Excellence Collection by Bulova surrounding a B on the top.

Your best bet is to pour over the ads on-site, as well as searching the watch database. Start by looking at full ads from 1966 to 1969 and all the short ads for the 1960 decade. and see if anything triggers your memory.

You have the watch. The 1967 Date King, autowinding.  Is it for sale?

Most likely no, we cannot. The serial (you call case) number doesn't identify a particular model. The presentation box you have was widely used in the 1960 and early 70's. You could peruse our data base by year in the mid to late 1960's (your date code indicates 1967), to see if anything looks familiar.

As both Neet and Geoff have said I think your best bet is to search through the adverts of this period. You might be in luck with an hexagonal case, as there aren't too many of those. I'll take a look through our 1967 Bulova linebooks for any matching case shapes.

Best of luck with your search.

Thanks for assisting me!  There is a picture of a Date King in the Hexagonal Box on the site.

Ah when you said hexgonal, you were talking about the box and not the actual shape of the watch. That would make sense.

Disregard my earlier comments about the Senator model.

How did you go? Any luck finding a possible match?

Pretty sure now that it was a Date King.  But not sure if the Date King was self-winding.  Mine had the luminous dots and was self-winding.  Thanks for assisting me!
