1961 Sea King "M"
I cannot get in to identify the movement. Why?? i cant figure out how. I think this one of the case designs that require the crystal to be removed and the stem taken out in order to remove the movement from the front...and i am not skilled enough to try that.
I can tell you the advert for this watch advertises it being 17j. The case is 32mm without the crown and 39mm lug tip to lug tip. Lug width is 17.5mm or 11/16. This watch is remarkably light, weighing in at 17.9g. I have it paired with a nice vintage JB Champion black lizard strap and its so light it almost dont know its there. A great summertime watch.
The dial has a beautiful patina of radium burn eminating from the center that looks remarkably pleasing to me. For those that enjoy a watch that shows its age, this one is a beauty.

Thank you. I saw it and could not resist it. Just unique enough that I had not seen one like it before. In doing some research I noticed that a lot of Bulovas in this series seem to have heavy radium burn. Wondering if they didnt use some extra strong radium that year or if this is not radium burn but some other type of whatever.
