This is a Bulova Ladies watch in 14 KT Rolled Gold Plate
Copper colored Dial with Black Numbers and Border.

I agree with you on not worrying about the bands for ID in general. Although it does look like yours might be original from what I can see in the photos. I do think there was a year changeover for model names on this one so it would be more of a year thing than a band thing. Just thought I would share my research on the advertising dates and details : )

Sorry I think I've missed something. How did we come up with the date of 1948?
Based on the how the subject watch is being presented with an expansion band I'm updating my model ID to a 1947 Bulova Claire as all adverts we see for the Victoria is mounted on a cord band. If the case was so mounted then I would tentatively put it as a Victoria, noting no adverts existing post 1946 for the Victoria model.

****The subject watch has a 1950's telescopic expansion band -- not original to the watch.
My preliminary research between VICTORIA vs CLAIRE: as of 8.17.19 with ads in DB.
I found no ads advertisment stating "copper dial or 14K gold filled" as per subject watch for either the Victoria or the Claire. I did find one for 10K gold filled for Victoria.
From the available ads:
1) both Victoria and Claire have white dials with gold hour markers and black RR border, per colored photo ads and one b&w ad stating the description.
2) both Victoria and Claire came in both yellow and pink gold finish.
When Kathy posts all her ads for the Victoria and Claire we may get a better understanding of each watch. Her ads range from 1944 through 1948 for the Victoria and Claire models, as per her previous posts.
