Watch Description

This one passed through the shop very quickly but I wanted to get a couple of pics. The pic of the movt was taken prior to case polishing so looks very grubby. The other two pics are after being polished. The watch was only in for a case cleaning and polishing and was off to be sold.

I've seen this before, but still looking for a match. Might just be a '23'? 14K solid gold case and the pics do not do this justice, it really pops. For some reason the pic of the dial makes it look like a re-dial, but this was less noticeable in person.  The serial number begins with either a 'C' or could possibly be a partially struck or worn Zero.

1958 Bulova 23 like this one may be "IW" variant

I have not been able to locate an ad for the "IW" or "JW" variants; Bulova 23 w/o variant at this time.

I can't find a variant either but agree, it's a Bulova 23. Cool 1/2 hood on lugs, I like this one.

The link Jabs provided shows same watch and also a photo of one in white gold w/string tag..

Based on that post, it does appear to be a re-dial.

No advert for the 'IW' variant, but this makes sense. The only actual evidence is from the list which staes 'Y' for yellow.

I' be alright with tentative '23 'IW' or just plain '23' until such time as we can find an advert.

This is a really nice watch Rob. It must be hard mot to covet everything that crosses your bench.

Actually, it makes it easier not to. I like a fairly wide variety of styles, and I see a lot of watches. It is really only when something really weird or rare comes along that I might ask the customer if they ever thought about parting with it.
