Hello...I am sorry for the aweful pics(I will have to ask my son to take better ones for me)...I was curious about this watch, searching the web and came across this site. I think I found a " 1927 Lone Eagle" but I am not sure.
The pics I have seen look like this watch...The case has "Bulova Quality 14k American Standard Pat Jun 10 1924 7669320" and the works has the following: Bulova 10AN seventeen 17 Jewels Swiss Unadjusted.
Any information you can help with would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
After looking through all of the Conqueror/Lone Eagles in the database with June, 1924 patent dates I don't see any that have the same style engraving inside the case back.
Notice the subject watch reads:
BULOVA QUALITY (arcing downwards, all others in the DB only read "BULOVA")
Subject watch reads:
14k (all others in the DB read "14k gold filled")
Subject watch reads:
AMERICAN STANDARD (level, not arcing upwards like all others in the DB)
As Mark would say, "a humdinger".
Ok then, so this is possibly the first 14K solid gold 1927 Conqueror we have seen. Now that I think about it, it would make sense that the case serial number and details are different from the 5000 batch as they were all 14K gold filled and would have a different stamp die.
So now I'm at 1927 Conqueror.
Excellent!!
This could also be further evidence that Bulova batched up the 5000 cases and movements for the original Lone Eagle release.
We now have adverts still selling the Conqueror right up to and post the first advertised LE sales.
I believe that the telling factor with the watch in question is the 14K gold case.

It's possible, but unlikely in my opinion as all Lone Eagles are Gold Filled.
You are correct in that the movement does in deed fall within my predicted 5000 range (which has still yet to fuly defined) so the preence of this watch does indeed present the questions, LE with a Conqueror case, Conqueror with a LE movement, or a Conqueror that was produced and release around the same time as the Lone Eagle batch was produced.
This watch would be an easy ID if it weren't for the 14K gold case and the case serial number starting with a 7.
The idea of Bulova producing 5000+ 10AN movements in 1926 and 5000+ cases (including 14K solid and 14K filled) is still plausible. Remember this is not fact, just my findings and observations.
Either way I do belive that this watch is a 1927 Conqueror from the period prior to Lindbergh flight.
