So on the road I stop at a huge antique store in Des Moines, Iowa....  and I found these ads in their bins... HUGE ads like the size of old Life magazines like 11"x14" maybe.  Immaculate....  the photos I'm showing here were taken in a hotel room with my cell phone... plastic is still on them, but wow.  I'm very stoked... I'm going to frame them and make them nice wall pieces in my work room.  They were $4.95 each... except for the one with the Presidents from 1940.. that one was $7.95.

Introduction is in order

First off, thank you for this site.  I t appears that there are many knowledgable folks here specific to Bulovas.  I have been lurking for a few weeks and am impressed with the knowledge base.  Personally, I am the grandson of an employee of Elgin National Watch company, and my grandfather passed on his skills with watches and tools to me before he passed.  For the last 40 years I have collected Elgin pocket watches and within the last year decided to explore wristwatches, specifically Bulovas due to their availability and company history.

A little help with dial refinishing?

Submitted by NOVA on February 28, 2011 - 8:29am

I need a better understanding of how the dial refinishing process works.  I've been advised to use International Dial Co. to do the job.  I have two questions about how to deal with them, but any other advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated, and I'm getting ready to do this for the first time.  I need to send them at least half a dozen dials.
