Hello all, I am new to the forums and I just picked up my first Bulova.  John with Time and Again has it now doing what he does so it may once be a gem again.  Its marked as a 53, From what I have gathered here is it should be a Jordan.  The other watches I have seen here are 17 jewels where mine is the 10bm with 21 jewels.  Also mine has a 14k gold case. Is this a more rare style of this watch?  I would like to learn what ever I can about this watch and the ones like it.  If anyone has any information about the Ashford, Jordan and the Ruthaford variant or where information may be found.

Hi, I purchased this watch about 20 years ago because I liked it and am not looking to sell it. I'm updating my insurance and my husband thinks this watch is actually 14kt gold and not gold filled like I had thought. It is stamped 14kt gold on the back of the case. The watch is in like new condition and runs and keeps decent time. It has a cobalt blue face and has a diamond bezel. The watch is really quite small and I think it dates to the 1970's just by looking at it. It's white gold, which was more unusual for that time period.

Accutron Quartz battery

Purchased an Accutron Quartz for my daughter. It was running when we bought it, but I noticed it was losing at least an hour a day and then it died a few days later.

On the back cover is the direction to use Bulova cell 247. I purchased a Renata 284 (7.9 x3.6mm) as that is supposed to be the available equivalent, but it was too tall to fit in the watch.

I was able to get a Renata 297 (7.9x2.6mm) into the battery well, however its still losing about an hour a day.

Hi

Recently I picked up one of these vintage pieces in perfect operating condition. Can anyone help in how to date the year of manufacture? Can't seem to find it on the forum's search function. Is there any way to learn its history/provenance? Many thanks!

The serial # is 18313. Version is 6433A. Movement, I think, is 10BNCH

Computron N6 Drivers watch sporadic freezing

Hi,  I have a 1976 computron N6, one of a pair I had.  Just sold the first and was looking to do the same with this one so have been monitoring it over a week or so with fresh batteries (357s).  It was spot on for about 4 days but then when I pressed the button the time was a few hours previous, the LEDs stayed on and the time remained the same until i took the batteries out.  No combination of buttons would 'unfreeze' it.  Now when i try it, it lasts only hours before staying on.
