Can you confirm date codes on movement and case back? They appear to be "N4" which would be 1974. If you can verify date code and case color, it's one of these as listed in the 1974 Linebooks.

Based on your photos,I would say the watch body is white with a black dial. If that's the case, it's a

Thank you very much for the information and also for updating my posting with the correct date. I had looked for the watch on all sort of web sites and could not find it. I am assuming it is not a common watch. Paul.

Thanks you all for confirming the model of this watch.

I hadn’t seen it before. Is it a fairly rare Bulova model?

Hi Paul - Bulova was in the business of mass producing consumer products, they made thousands and thousands of watches for most of the last one hundred years. While there are some watches that don't show their faces (pun intended) here very often, I'm slow to say that very many Bulova watches are truly 'rare'. However, no 50 year old watch that still works should be considered common. It's UNUSUAL to find them at this age in this condition but maybe not rare. It appears to have been well cared for and the fact that it still works is a testament to Bulova quality. As always we recommend a professional service every 3-5 years if you plan to wear it.

Congratulations on a nice find!

It works so now to get busy and give it a good cleaning. Looks like 47 years of dirt in it,

Cleaning well underway. The watch is gold coloured so I think it is a 12432-1Y. I have also discovered some more numbers on the inside back case. It has a 3374 in black paint followed by a tiny engraved W7-78 AND T1163C. Maybe a servicing number? Paul

Model updated to reflect the yellow gold case version.

3374 will be the case model reference and yes the hand etched code will be a servicing record.
