I am guessing as to the date. I really have no idea. The watch was given to me as a graduation present by my grandfather. I used to wear it all the time but when quartz came out, no longer. I'm thinking of having it restored but I'm not sure if it's worth doing. There are marks on the inside, but they don't match anything I can find online. Even the case serial doesn't follow the Bulova pattern since it starts with B70 which would date it to 2010 and that's clearly not even close for this watch.
I took the back off the watch to replace the battery (successful and it runs). HOWEVER, the gasket was disintegrated and I realized this was quickly going above my pay grade -- especially since I can't date the watch or figure out what model it is. It has never been touched other than to replace batteries when I was a kid. Interestingly, the movement is stamped USA. No idea if that means designed for the USA or made in the USA.
Any and all information about this strange critter is appreciated. I can't even find any matching photos anywhere.
A date stamp of N0 on the back case does confirm your watch was mase in 1970. The Accutron movement is certainly something you don't want to mess around with, but there are people that can service these early Accutrons.
Generally speaking we'd ID your watch as a 1970 Bulova Accutron Date and Day. The model variant might be the "AA" as per the below advert, but I'm still looking for a better match.

Ahh and all this time I thought that tiny NO meant "Number". The case back serial doesn't show up anywhere that I could find. I guess they forgot to put the Tuning Fork logo on my variant. :D
So from what I see, the watch needs a service, new gasket, new crystal, polish and the band could use a gold replate. Any idea where in Southern California someone can do this?
