Watch Description

This one is nearly perfect, with some discoloration on the second hand and one I have never seen before. Any case marks seen are my fingerprints.......

Polished stainless steel with a black textured "starburst" dial that sparkles in sunlight. It is an "open through the front" and I haven't attempted to dis-assemble it for fear of marring the literally perfect case.

I bought this thinking it was possible it was a non-conforming as I had never seen a dial like this. Much to my satisfaction, it appears in 1967 line book BAWD0166 as

Clipper "O"

This appears to be a dial configuration "stand alone". A first for the database! Running and keeping time.

Now that is one sick dial!   Great find and how wonderful to see it in the metal!

;oP Thanks, Jim. I was the only bidder and was having minor buyer's remorse after I pulled the trigger. Thought I might have bought a fantasy watch in a Commander case. Apparently everyone else had the same apprehension as me. I started researching and found it. Home run! Dial appears black in artificial light, but glitters like an explosion of tiny sparkles from the hands shaft in sunlight. I opened the package sitting on my deck, and when it came out of the bubble wrap running and reflecting direct sun, I was literally speechless.

Seller listed watch as having an 11ALAC 17J movement, but I can't verify that as true.

Looks like the linebook version was missing the BULOVA lettering.

Still a good match for the Bulova Clipper "O"

I think it's due to face color and texture reflection when the photo was taken. In the  enlarged  linebook photo, if you look closely it's there but showing as reflected black and tough to see.

Dang, I have never seen anything like that. Just think of the discussion we would be having if we hadn't scored all the Line Books that we have. I bet we've ID 400 watches out of them this year!

Congrats Bob - amazing score 1966 Bulova Clipper O (we'll probably see three in the next month now that this one has surfaced)
