Bulova 1965 Surf King

Can you get the back off and see the movement? That would help alot.

I would bet the jewel count is more 17 or 21 IMO

It looks like it will pop off with a dull knife up by the lugs. where the band hooks on. I dont think its a screw back so it should pop right off. Just be careful not to scratch the back.

Can't tell from the pics but it could be a 1 piece case which means the back does not come off. The way the engraving lines up on the case back leads me to believe that it is a 1 piece case (unless the last person to apply the back was as OCD as me and took the time to line it up with the case). Check carefully, if the back does come off there should be a small indent where you can get a small blade in. Sometimes the case detail makes it look like the case back is a separate piece. When you pull the crown out to the set position is there any movement side to side or does the stem stay rigid. If there is any play in the stem it may be a 2 piece stem which would indicate a 1 piece case.

Looks like a Surf King, just a guess. The case back is quite thin.

Could be that the back has never been off. I have seen some of mine that were never removed or serviced.

The back actually cups the body of the watch,should be on the side and again they are thin.
