Rolled Gold plate bezel/stainless back - never took a pic of the back, will follow-up with one. I've never seen an ad for this 23J variation.  I actually have two of this model, both purchased on ebay in 2013.  Haven't seen another since.  Don't see one in your database either.

I do not see this design in our ads, but feel it is a Bulova 23. Other selfwinding 23 jewel watches in 1957 would be in the Beau Brummell line (or 23 Calendar), but this has no diamonds (nor calendar).

I agree with you Ken. Strong probability it's from the 23 line. Nothing else seems to fit.

I'm slightly tentative on this one being a 23. I agree that it most likely is.
