Watch Description

White gold filled with a black dial sporting 3 diamonds and white gold indices. 17J movement. No notch in the dial indicating a refinish. I find this casing in solid yellow gold for the Envoy and Ellsworth - 21J with no diamonds. Nothing in gold filled or white. I'm stumped, but believe it's correct as seen. My best guess is Beau Brummell. Maybe somebody else will find an ad or linebook entry I missed.

No luck finding a match, but Beau Brummell seems a likely model name.

It sort of looks like the dial on a 1957 Beau Brummel but with different diamond adornments. The case is totally different.

I'm going to keep looking but I'd say it's a redial. I feel like the paint would look smoother if it was original and the name font doesn't look quite right on the name. Right now I'm kinda stumped.....

If it's a redial, it's an elaborate one (indices removed and reapplied). No black on the bottom edges or sides of the indices and a clean open seam between bottom edges and dial surface. I'm stumped as well. If it is a redial, the question is a redialed what? I'm at a loss to find a case match.

The case bezel looks a lot like my 1942 Minute Man here: Bulova 1942 Minute Man | myBulova.com

It has an 8AE movement and the watch in question has an 8AC movement. Both of these movements are the same size and will fit in case backs designed for either. Case backs for different models of the Bulovas will often interchange and fit also. I've seen some Bulovas with so many mixed parts you can't tell what year they were originally. Have you looked inside the bezel to see if there are any Roman numerals scratched inside, and if so, do they match the case back serial number? I'm thinking it's possible someone took a newer movement and case back and put it in an older bezel.

I have to agree with Geoff.   The dial looks off and probably a redial with jeweler add on diamonds.

Stumped as well. Leaning towards yet another Beau Brummell variant. Case matches one or two models, both of which are solid 14K.

Neetstuf, get on ebay and scroll through Bulovas (newly listed). There's another watch just like yours listed with a white dial. So that means there's more than one like yours.

Indeed. That one is a yellow gold case with white dial and also dated 1956. That would seem to indicate there were 2 variants. White with black and yellow with white dial.

Sorry but nothing is jumping out for me. Beau is tempting but I don't see enough matching points. I'm at Unknown for now.
