The BULOVA "GRAMATAN," Circa 1950. Perhaps the namesake originated in Mt. Vernon, New York?
"The original off white dial shows a little ageing, but as you can see from the photos, it's rather minimal. Embossed gold Arabic hour markers and black minute track. The gold hands are in excellent condition, sub second dial at six. Fancy lugs 10k gold filled case in superb condition, no gold loss or damage of any kind. 8AC 17 jewel movement. Dimensions: 23mm excluding crown: 34mm lug to lug." This superb and scarce to rare watch, is currently available at the link, hereafter:

What ever this Bulova is, I just bought one just like it. My measurement on the crystal on mine is 22.6 x 16.2. G-S lists the crystal for a Gramaton as a X345-5, but I am unable to find the actual crystal in their catalog to confirm the measurements I got from measuring mine. Mine has LO on the case back and A9 on the 8AC movement. The serial number on the case of the one I have is 1791861. The picture of the one above looks to have been taken with the crystal taken off. The one I have has kind of a domed crystal on it. It looks to be the original crystal.
My '52 GS catalog does list the X345-5 as being for the Gramatan as 1955mercury says but I think this is a typo since X345 would put it in the range of a ladies model measuring about 14mm long.
But the '52 BB catalog list's the Gramatan as taking the X2256 which is published as 22.5x16.5.
