Watch Description

This one came yesterday and for me is a pretty exciting one. It appears it was only produced in 1950 and has never been ID'ed with an ad. This one has a movement date coded "A9". Two previous examples (both 1950) were ID'ed  off a couple different crystal packages, with the name verified per Geoff during the ID of this one :

"While I'm not a fan of of naming watches based on a crystal packet I am a fan of this watch, it's very nice. Gramatan is listed in the Bulova legal dept list of names as having been used in ONLY 1950."

1950 Gramatan. Running and keeping time.

An interesting historical note. Mention has been made previously of a possible connection to Gramatan Ave in Mt. Vernon, NY. Mt. Vernon adjoins Bronxville, NY, which is 16 mi. north of Bulova Corp. Headquarters and was the home of the now gone 300 room luxury Hotel Gramatan  Maybe just my imagination, but the architecture of the hotel certainly seems to be mimicked by the watch case design.

That is interesting!  Love the design too.

Definitely could be a connection between the design and the hotel.   1950 Bulova Gramatan.
