This watch appears to be a 1947 Her Excellency "N". The 21 jewel 6BA movement has a 47 date code. Both case front and back have corresponding numbers. When acquired, it came with a broken/set mainspring, a broken third wheel upper pivot, worn upper balance wheel cap jewel, worn crown, and excessive oil and dirt on/in the mainspring barrel and adjacent components/parts. The crystal wasn't chipped, but was scratched. Also, the black cord band was non original and in poor condition. The movement was very thoroughly cleaned, had the balance, balance upper cap jewel, and third wheel replaced. It received a new mainspring, crown, and crystal. The case was cleaned, polished and re-burnished. A like-original rose gold expansion bracelet could not be found, so a vintage Forstner square snake chain bracelet was added. Placed into a ladies Bulova Excellency box, the watch was given to my wife as one of her anniversary gifts.
