Watch Description

Looking for some expert help. I believe this is a 1945 bulova brewster but not 100% sure. 14k rolled gold plate bezel, sterling base, stainless back, from New York(?). The band is genuine lizard labeled Hadley Roma 16 L. Outside caseback assuming that is the serial number is 4505732. The mechanism is as follows: 10BC, Swiss, fifteen(15) jewels, unadjusted with the triangle symbol, af/rs, bxw, no battery (manual dial?) It was left to me by my father in law and I believe it was gifted to him from his father. I am very interested to know the actual year/ make/ model. All inquiries please comment or write to me at [email protected] thank you so much!

Welcome and thanks for sharing. Based on the sterling base and copper colored dial, your watch is rose gold plate and by case s/n is a 1944.

With this case/dial/movement (10BC 15J) configuration It appears to be a match to

1944 Aviator

as seen and discussed here

if it was 17J it would be an Alderman

Also how does this watch function it seems to only work when I wind it up with the dial do I have to constantly wind it because it stops after a night and I have to take it apart every time to reset the time.

A 1944 Bulova Aviator does look to match the subject watch.

A tip for vintage manual wind watches: try to wind your watch once a day around the same time. I usually wind mine first thing in the morning just before putting it on.

1944 Bulova Aviator is a good match.  Note you pull out the crown to set the time.  You should never have to take apart the watch to set it.

I thought so but I didn't want to tug on it too hard without knowing for sure, I think it's just been neglected for so long that it's a little tough but i did get it! Thank you!
