Hi Lyndi4g and welcome to myBulova!  What a gorgeous watch!  Is it possible to get a couple of additional photos of the watch so we can confirm the date.  If you have a photo of the back of the case, movement, and inside of the case back, those are all helpful.  You can message or email them to me or the admin and we can add them to the post or you can add them in the comments.  Thanks!

Wow - what a wonderful watch! My first impression is that it's early 1960's. Bulova was making several lines of diamond studded watches during that time and I think this might be one of them. I've searched all of our 60's adverts but didn't find a match, I'll keep looking.

Is it possible to get a jeweler to open the back and get us all the markings (especially the date code) from both the movement and the case?

Hello there, I tried to upload more but the file sizes are so small.  I will try again now.

Hi Lyndi, ideally we would need to get a pic of the movement inside, but you may need to take it to a qualified watchmaker or jeweller to opne the case properly.

Platinum with diamonds, beautiful and definitely not cheap.

Reverend Rob I added a photo of the movement for her.  I wasn't able to make out a date stamp but it comfirms it is a 5AB which was used in the 40's.

I searched and didn't find a match for your watch.  Bulova made platinum watches from the beginning and I found several ads in the 40's but not one that looked like your watch.  I found them priced as low as $82 and as high as $1000.  So it varied greatly depending on the diamonds and band.  Here is an ad from 1948 for a watch that is similar to show you how it might have been advertised.  Interesting all the ads I found did not have names.

I tried looking everywhere to find the watch.  I didn't find anything.  I want to find out the year and how much it was purchased for, seems so interesting.  My mother bought the watch in an estate sale for $500
