It is a watch I inherited from my Grandmother. Was told that it was purchased in either the 1940s or in the 1950s.

Welcome to myBulova! Thank you for sharing your lovely heirloom watch from your grandmother. I think your watch is from 1937 by the style and case serial #. It would nice to confirm the date code on the movement and the model or photo would be great too.
Is the case white gold or a combination of white/yellow gold? I think your watch is a Sonia or a Sultana but I think the name depends on the color of the case. The Sonia being yellow gold with white gold surrounding the diamonds and the Sultana being all white gold. It can be hard to tell the gold color in photos sometimes with different lighting. Thank you for confirming the color of the case. I will go with Sonia then : ) If you ever have the chance to have a jeweler take the back off snap a photo of the movement and drop it in the comments. That will give us the date code and movement model.
